Match Report - 13 Nov 2011, Clapham Rovers Clapham Rovers lost to Fulham United

Hello Rovers

Fulham United 4 – Rovers ‘A’ 1

I cannot express how important friendlies such as these are. After two weeks without any football and the champagne lifestyle that you all lead, it’s vital that we use these games to build up our fitness, sharpness and teamwork, to enable us to have successful league and cup season.

Bunny informed me on Sunday that we gave a good account of ourselves against the leaders of the Senior Amateur Division, 2 leagues above us, despite the handicap of only 10 players turning up and losing players to injury during the game.
We also missed a penalty which might have put a different complexion on the game. I heard Sheva pulled off some decent saves aswell.

The game also saw the return of Carswell into the Rovers fray and I speak for everyone when I say its good to have him back.
