A full blooded and committed performance saw us take a point and be a whisker away from 3 in the dying minutes as Elliot struck the bar with a stupendous drive which beat the keeper all ends up and bounced over Sharpy as looked to mop up.
If I think about the pantheon of Clapham Rovers performances through the years, that was right up there and I can feel the enjoyment coming back. Let’s continue to fight for each other and put the graft in. The results will continue to come.
1-0 A fine ball cut the WLS defence in two and Sharpy sprinted onto it, bore down on the onrushing keeper and chipped the ball over him.
1-1 After weathering the storm somewhat a WLS attacker managing to get to the byline, evade several Rovers defenders and cut the ball back to an attacker who squeezed the ball in from about 5 yards.
MOM: 3 absolutely blinding saves and a dominating performance in the air saw Pybus deservedly take the MOM. Mentions in dispatches for 2nd MOM to Sharpy for ploughing a furrow up front in tough conditions and bagging a great goal.
Sunday 3rd DECEMBER
The pressure is all on SWAG on Sunday. They’re top and gunning from the title. We’ve tightened up at the back and go our mojo going again. I feel an upset in the offing.
