When you’re down and hard on your luck, things have a tendency to give you another kick in the nuts for good measure. We found ourselves 2-0 down after 10 minutes, down to 10 men with 30 mins to go, got back to 2-2 but then conceded the sucker punch for a 3-2 loss with 2 minutes to go.
To a man we put everything into the match and if we continue like that, we’ll pick up points soon enough. Let’s just keep the faith, play for each other and show bags of spirit and determination. After WW went 2-0 up, we showed all the intent and play to get back into the game. Cut out the silly mistakes and this will see us pick up 3 points more often than not.
0-1 A clearance from Alex Wellington unluckily dropped right on the boot of a Westminster Wanderer who hooked the ball home.
0-2 A terrible bobble off the pitch shall the ball slice off Alex Wellington as he went to clear it and into the far corner of the net.
1-2 Charlie Cook scored an overhead kick after the ball was bobbling around in the box after being put in the mixer.
2-2 A late addition to the squad, Godwin advanced into the box after a cut back, cooly cut inside, gave the keeper the eyes and tucked the ball past him into the net.
3-2 A late corner saw the ball chucked in. An unmarked WW’er headed home.
