Rovers 1-3 Politics
Aaaah balls. Our nine game unbeaten run came to a disappointing and frustrating end vs Politics. Despite going 1-0 up we struggled for the fluency (bar a decent opening 20 minutes) and cutting edge we have shown all season and we succumbed to a determined and obdurate side who scored from all 3 of their chances. Over and done now. Lessons learned. Let’s go on another unbeaten run!
1-0 After starting the game by playing some lovely stuff, Al cut the ball back for Tim to tuck in for another goal against Politics for him.
1-1 From an incorrectly given corner, the ball was swung and a Politics attacked barged Sheva (holding the ball in both hands) and also possibly punched the ball into the net. A confused and befuddled referee waved away the protests.
1-2 Credit it where it was due, Politics took the lead with a decent cross into the box which was scissored kicked home in fine style at the near post.
1-3 After pushing all match to get back on level terms, Politics broke and got in the box. In the melee that ensued, I gave away a stonewall penalty by kicking one, maybe two players and getting nowhere near the ball.
MOM – Des was commanding at the back once again.
Sunday 26th November Fixture
This Sunday sees in return to Frank Blunstone Cup action vs Sporting Continental. These are a quality side and we’ll have to be at our absolute best to get the points. Let’s make sure we’re bang up for it!
