This Sundays match is against Kings Utd. We didn’t deserve to lose 5-1 so let’s avenge that result.
Rovers 7-1 ASB
We secured our first win in 5 by simply swatting aside ASB on our way to our joint largest win of the season. We’ve shown flashes of similar play throughout the season but they’ve been all to fleeting in matches as we’ve succumbed to defensive errors and missed chances. Sunday was therefore a complete delight to watch as we romped to victory and rose above the ASB provocation as they got more niggly as the game proceeded. Particularly pleasing was seeing Les make his debut up top and show some excellent link up play with Shaun. Debutant Dwayne’s goalscoring headers also deserves a mention.
A game against ASB is never complete without a scare and this match was no different as we went 1-0 down from a 15th minute penalty. A corner came in from their right hand side and as it was cleared away a shout went up from a felled ASB attacker who remained on the ground as the ball was hooked away. The ref had no hesitation in pointing to the spot and the penalty sent our keeper the wrong way.
Thankfully we got back on level terms almost straight away and this kicked off the goalscoring avalanche.

2. Horse - Horse got in front of his man to finish on the half volley from a Smudge corner

3. Shaun - Cross from Smudge, cool finish in bottom right corner.
4. Horse - Horse again got in front of his man to volley at the keeper (probably over the line) but finished his own rebound, from a Smudge corner.
5. Smudge - Gaz throw to Smudge, the defence parted to allow Smudge to take advantage and stroll into the box before finishing in bottom left corner with outside of the boot.
6.Shaun - Shocking error from keeper, Shaun pounced to finish from 2 yards out. Smudge Assist
7. Dwayne - Strong header by Dwayne from Smudge free kick
MOM. Smudger for being back to his marauding best.
