Match Report - 10 Apr 2016, Clapham Rovers Clapham Rovers lost to Kings United

Rovers!

The league table is looking a bit grim at the moment. I’m scratching my head at the run we’re on and the position we find ourselves. Granted we have games in hand but i’d feel a bit better with some more points on the board. Sunday gives us a chance for revenge vs ASB. Let’s give them the beating we should have done in the Semi Final.

Rovers 1 -5 Kings Utd

In a sadly all too familiar fashion for this season, we contrived to lose a game we’d fought hard to get back before managing to concede a plethora of goals either of our own making or tinged with misfortune.

1-0Kings started the strongest and after a few forays down the right hand side, manage to work a cross into the 6 yard box which was rammed home.
1-1 After 55 minutes we were deservedly back on the level terms. The ref bottled a penalty decision by deciding a foul was committed outside the box. Nathan swung in a neat cross into the box and this was nodded home.

1-2 With us committed for an attacking corner, the ball was cleared to the edge of the box. We lost a 50:50 and the ball was lumped into our right back position with a skeleton defence. Kings dispatched the ball at the near post after some neat interplay.

1-3 The Ref grew some balls and eventually gave a penalty. Sadly it was against us following a lunge by Horse. Sheva had no chance.

1-4. A long ball was lumped into our box and a Kings attacker pirouetted neatly to score down the centre of the goal on the penalty spot.

1-5. Shev was unable to hold a shot from 30 yards. A Kings attacker was first on the scene to clip home the rebound.

MOM. Nath for an inspirational Bryan Robson-esque driving commitment performance and central to all our good build up play.
