Ah pi55.
We lost against Chelsea Town in a very odd match. We certainly played the better football (the opening 20 mins was amongst best we had played all season,) but in spite of all the pretty stuff, we were hard pressed at full time to recount more than 2 shots on goal.
Charlie almost put us in front in the first 10 minutes with a shot that went wide and another that was heading in but superbly blocked. Shaun also looked to be in on goal but the 5p petrol station ball we were playing with, courtesy of Chelsea Town, bonged over his foot off the turf with him well placed to be one on one with the keeper.
Full credit to Chelsea Town, they were effective, direct and well organised at the back. They took every chance that came their way, from a quality opener to really soft goals at the end when our heads had gone. They are definitely beatable though.
Overall , we played really well in patches and can delight in the return of Sheva, Charlie and Nath to the fold. I’m really looking to forward to playing Chelsea Town again.
0-1 35mins. From a corner Milby unfortunately gave the ball away on the edge of the box when looking to set up another attack. It was half chipped into the box to their central defender who had stayed up from the corner. With his back to goal he juggled the ball a couple of times, hooked it over his shoulder, over Sheva and into the far corner of the net.
0-2 85 mins. A ball into the box was half cleared and their attacker picked it up right on the edge in the centre position. He steadied himself and chipped the ball towards the left hand post. The ball struck the post, bobbled along the line, hit the other post and went in.
0-3 90 mins. The ball was pinged across the edge of the box, from the right hand side. Their decent left winger met the ball at speed and slammed it in.
MOM was Matt Wright for an all action midfield general maestro metronome performance.
