Match Report
Match Report - 10 Mar 2013, Clapham Rovers Clapham Rovers lost to London Rangers
You’re all smashing lads and I enjoy running the team. The club is nothing without you lot and I hope by playing for the club you have enjoyed your football/a bit of banter/a decent night out/a great football tour and made some good mates.
With all that comes a certain responsibility to the club, each other and yourself. This is only the 2nd time I have had to remind people of this in the last 4 seasons. It is nothing personal. I have to do this to keep the club organised and make sure the enjoyment continues.
A few things have been creeping in of late which I’ve let slide and have resulted in the complete sham we had on Sunday.
Here are a few ground rules for the club.
1. If you are unavailable please let me know by Friday noon via the website. If that doesn’t work, a text will suffice. It takes 2 seconds to do.
2. If I do have to chase you up, please have the common courtesy to reply to me. Calls to several players were either completely ignored or then replied to with a text several days later. Subsequent texts were then ignored. I don’t mind if you can’t play, I just need to know.
3. If you’re injured, ill or touch and go, cancelling on the morning of the game is no help to anyone, let’s down everyone else and drives me insane. Where am I going to find someone else at that time? If you say you can play, come Sunday you will play. You wouldn’t pull out on a hot date 1 hour before. The Rovers is a f**cking hot date, with massive t1ts and a cracking @rse. She also puts out on the first date.
If you are doing any of 1,2 and 3, I know you’re not doing it maliciously….but for the sake of the club your mates in the team and future enjoyment, have a think and sort it out.
Rant over, let’s start again vs Chiswick FC on Sunday. It’s also St Patrick’s Day so I’m very up for the Snazziest of Snazzy Sundays afterwards. I will make my missus invite her 7/10 mate along.
Rovers 0 – 20 London Rangers
No, I’m not joking. Yes, I am being serious.
We started with 9 men, played 70mins with 10 and had an injured me in goal for the duration. 3 of the players were abysmal players I found on Gumtree who were forced into action after 3 cancellations on the morning of the game.
Full credit to Bunny, Godders, Charlie ,Gaz and Jimmy Joyce. They gave their all but when it’s effectively 5 against 11 there isn’t much you can do. We were lucky to keep it to 20 and were lucky to get nil.
M.O.M Bunny, Godders, Charlie ,Gaz and Jimmy Joyce.
