Match Report

Match Report - 11 Nov 2012, Clapham Rovers Clapham Rovers lost to Dynamo Clapham

It is with a heavy heart that I write this match report. I'll be honest i've been putting it off for a couple of days.

Most importantly though, IF YOU MAKE YOURSELF AVAILABLE FOR A MATCH I EXPECT YOU TO TURN UP.

ON SUNDAY, WE HAD TO KICK OFF WITH 9 MEN WHILST I HAD TO GO AND FIND SOMEONE TO REPLACE THE PERSON WHO SAID THEY WERE AVAILABLE AND THEN DIDN'T TURN UP. WE LOOKED LIKE A SHAMBLES.

BY SAYING YOU ARE AVAILABLE YOU HAVE COMMITTED YOURSELF TO THE TEAM. BY NOT TURNING UP YOU ARE LETTING EVERYONE DOWN.

The match itself was a bit of a bloodbath. Dynamo Clapham scored 5 preventable goals whilst we had a clear goal not given in the 2nd half as the referee didn't see that the ball had crossed the line by at least 2 yards from a G header.

Goal 1. Their midfielder ran unchallenged from the half way line to fire in.

Goal 2. Their left winger ran into the box unchallenged to side foot in from the edge of the box.

Goal 3. We don't play to the whistle and gift possession away.

Goal 4. The ball is cut back from the byline and their midfielder has all the time in the world to stroke home.

Goal 5. A tepid cross into the box is powered in by an unmarked midfielder.

I shudder to think about the goals we conceded as our shape, marking and concentration were all over the place. Whilst we did raise our game in the 2nd half with some much needed grit, it was far too late.

I will be making some changes on Sunday to stop this result happening again so let's get our game faces on and some fire in our belly because at the moment, the league table isn't lying.
